Rice Wine, also called mijiu or  sake rice wine, an alcoholic beverage made from glutinous rice, the traditional yeast culture made from wild yeast in the city of Hubei, where this style of Chinese cooking wine originated with nearly thousands of years. 

 

It is made by fermenting steamed glutinous rice with yeast and spring water. It's relatively low in alcohol and can be drunk neat or used in hot dishes, marinades. Rice wine is made from the fermentation of rice starch that has been converted to sugars. It is particularly good for puerperal women and during a women's menstrual period..
